Mexico Dog Rescue – Happy Endings

Samantha’s Story

Background: Samantha was dropped off at the door of the shelter with a box full of her puppies. She sat at the shelter and watched all of her puppies be adopted then lived at the shelter for 3-4 years, up until age 5.

From adoptive mom, Melissa W. (Ontario, Canada): My family and I were looking to add a new addition to our family and get our dog a best friend. We looked through Facebook and multiple different websites and adoption agencies. We were sure that we wanted to adopt a dog in need. We saw a picture of Samantha on the Oasis adoption page and fell in love with her face. After a month or two of going back and forth with the shelter, we were on our way to the airport to pick her up.

What was the most challenging thing about adopting a Mexican rescue dog? Were there challenges you weren’t expecting? How have you handled them? The most challenging part of adopting a Mexican rescue dog would be the fear of her not adapting or wishing she was back in Mexico. But this fear never seemed to come to light.

What’s been the best part of welcoming into your home? Samantha always makes us laugh!! She’s the most cuddly dog we have ever met. Everyone adores her! Especially our other dog.

Here is a photo of Samantha now…

Imagine a dog, alone and scared, abandoned on the streets of Mexico. Their future uncertain, filled with hunger, fear and sickness.

Your donation can save them from that fate.
